synopsis:

A Trip to the Circus was a deliverable from my second semester at College for Creative Studies. The goal of this project was to re-invent a game that will fill the gaps we found within our portfolio. The gaps I aimed to fill was the lack of illustrative work as well as the lack of my own voice within projects. The concept for A Trip to the Circus was based off of personal childhood nostalgia, then transformed into trend research that shaped the aesthetics and design of the project. Color, material and finish played a large part in the design and trend incorporation. The addition of inclusive design allows this card deck to not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also accessible to the visually impaired. The project was completed solely by me.

IDEATION:

These were part of the initial ideation phase of A Trip to the Circus.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS:

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Throughout this project, there was a lot that I was able to learn. I got more experience in graphic design and consistency in artistic style. It was difficult to find the balance between my own artistic style and the art deco style I was trying to emulate. I was able to get more experience in trend forecasting, designing a product from start to finish, strengthening my CMF decision making, and product creation during the process of making A Trip to the Circus
